Before you Schedule, please read this...
Fall is my busiest season and spots are limited. I recommend booking well in advance.
If you have a particular date or holiday by which you need prints or gifts (Mother's Day, Father's Day, a Birthday, Hanukkah, Christmas, etc.), be sure to book a date at least 6 weeks in advance of that date to ensure sufficient processing, printing and shipping time.
If the weather doesn't cooperate or someone is sick on your session date, we'll work out a new date as soon as possible.
The Creative Fee covers a session including two generations plus up to two pets. Our focus can be the whole family, your newborn, your new puppy or your rising senior. Larger groups (such as extended family) require more processing after the session, and thus incur a $100 charge.
To ensure optimal light, most sessions are scheduled about two hours before sunset.
If you need help selecting a location, we'll do that after you book. My most dynamic sessions are at locations that are special to my clients, often their own backyard. I also have lots of favorite local spots to suggest! Additional fees apply to locations more than 20 miles from Williston, VT.
All sessions are outdoors. Kate Farrell Photography is fully insured. I am fully vaccinated.

Let's get your session on our calendars
Once you've officially booked, I'll send you my Getting Ready Guide. It will walk you through everything from choosing outfits to strategies for getting kids to cooperate and descriptions of my favorite locations. This guide as been carefully crafted and will answer all the most common questions. Of course, I'm always available to chat if other questions come up.
A few days before your session is scheduled, I'll reach out to confirm our time and location. At that point, if the forecast is iffy or someone isn't feeling well, we can talk about our rescheduling options. Otherwise, that's the perfect time to ask any last-minute questions or let me know if you've come up with a fun idea we haven't discussed.
On the day of your session, please block off 2-2.5 hours. Typically we'll be done in about 90 minutes, but I don't charge by the hour, so if there's a problem with the location or a kiddo meltdown, I like to stay flexible.
Finally, take a deep breath and relax. I promise to give the grown-ups and kids breaks throughout the session as needed, and to make it as fun as possible for everyone involved.
I will capture the big picture and the little details that make now such a unique and special time in your life. I will capture images that will have you telling stories for decades to come.

Within four weeks of your session, you will receive a link to your gallery of 40+ professionally hand-touched digital images (50+ for extended families). Once you've had a chance to see the images and consider how you'd like to enjoy them, you'll let me know which collection you want to purchase. After that, you'll have a full month to select the specific digital files and artwork you want to use to fill that collection.

because your story matters
What you're going to do with your images is perhaps the most important aspect to consider when you're planning for a photo session, but it's all too often the aspect that's overlooked... all that time and money invested deserves a better return than photos gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere.
You'll never get the same feeling looking at your photos on a screen as you will seeing them on your wall or flipping through the pages of an album. So, I include a substantial artwork credit with every collection.
