Late September in Fairfax, Vermont was the perfect time to capture some fall family photos for this extended family. Grandma and Grandpa were getting ready to head south for the winter. Mom wanted to be sure to get pictures of everyone together in early fall.
Mother Daughter Pictures are Priceless
We’ve all been there: delayed by traffic on the way home. While we waited for Dad, I seized the chance to get some Mother-Daughter images.
It isn’t always easy for Moms to just sit and “hang out” with the kids. Now more than ever, the work-family juggling act requires masters-level time management skills. That’s why I was so excited to give Mom time to just be with her girls and photos of those priceless moments. I hope one of these ends up on her remote office desk!
So many Mom’s are the family photographer and rarely end up in family photos. (Exhibit A: ME!!) I hope Mom treasures these images for years to come.
Extended Family Photos
What’s more special than time with Grandma?? Time with the Grandkids!
Intergenerational photos are such an important part of the way we tell our children the story of their family. And we know that telling these stories helps kids feel connected, whole and loved.
Meet Bailey and Her People!
She’s such a sweetie! And, Grampa loves her so much. Their bond was as palpable as it was sweet.
Queso has some really lucky people!
It really seemed like he knew Dad had a stressful drive home. After a few snuggles with Queso, the stress was gone. With ears that soft and such a gentle yet fun personality, it’s no surprise.
Queso loves to play too!
Fall Family Pictures
My favorites are the ones with everyone snuggling with each other, and Queso.
Home is where the heart is and I could feel it here!
I love it when kids want to show me their newest skills and tricks!!
I always get a few more “classic” portraits too. The support and love these two showed each other was nothing short of inspiring. Those are some lucky kiddos!!
I love capturing Vermont Fall Family Photos! I drove past my first smoking chimney of the season on the way to this session and left feeling totally in the Vermont Fall Frame of Mind!
Kate Farrell Photography | Vermont Family Photos
I specialize in photographing families at all ages and stages. Based in Williston, VT, I photograph families at home or at one of my favorite locations.
My style is authentic. I will guide you to help make the most of our time, but I do not stage every single aspect of my images.
I love to tell stories and always look to include story elements like the family dog or swing set.
For me, light is a big part of the story. I work with natural light and schedule my sessions in the two hours before sunset to ensure optimal lighting.
