November is upon us! The days are getting shorter. Stick season is officially here, but the holidays are still a few weeks off. This time of year can feel a bit drab. However, for family photos it can actually be a lot of fun.

People often ask me: What is the best time of year for family photos? Is it fall foliage season? Or maybe early November when the light is actually really beautiful and winter is just barely arriving? Many people love to capture the beauty of family life during Vermont’s brief summers. Maybe summer is the best time for family photos? Still others embrace winter and opt for photos then. Are the winter holidays the best time for family photos?
So, when do I think is the best time for family photos? My quick answer is… last weekend!
You’ve decided to hire a family photographer. You are about to have that amazing feeling that comes from being seen, accepted and celebrated just as you are. But, between here and there is a big decision: Who will you hire? It’s important that you find the right person.
If you are not reading this on your smart phone, I bet your smart phone is within arm’s reach! And, that phone probably has an impressive built-in camera. With that camera riding around in your pocket all day, why consider professional photos for your family? Good question!
